Owen Franck, a senior at Mira Costa High in California, took third in the Division 1-2 boys varsity team sweepstakes race by covering the 2.93-mile layout in 14:57 at the 75th Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational Presented by Nike in Walnut, Calif. Franck helped Mira Costa finish fourth as a team with 164 points.
