D1/D2 GIRLS Team Sweeps: US#1 Simi Valley jr Sarah Baxter showed why she deserves the national top spot, getting out fast (5:06 mile, 8:42 airstrip, 10:45 for 2 miles, 13:33 top of Reservoir Hill) and powered to a mind-blowing course record 16:00. That tops the 2001 mark of 16:16 set byAmber Trotter. Hundreds of all-time greats like Jordan HasayMarie Lawrence and many others have run this course and Baxter is far ahead of them all. Great Oak took the team title with 38 points, with Baxter’s Simi Valley second with 59.

D1/D2 BOYS Team Sweeps: CA D2#1 Dos Pueblos sr Bryan Fernandez notched his third major win of the year with a 14:34 (unofficial), with Arcadia’s D1#5 Mitchell Pratt and #1 Estevan De La Rosa going 2-3 and leading the state’s #1 team to a victory with 86 pts. Carlsbad was second with 128.

D1/D2 BOYS Indiv. Sweeps: CA D1#8 El Toro sr Juan Gonzalez outlasted #6 Torrey Pines jr Tal Braude, going just under 14:40 (unofficial), with D2 #11 La Costa Canyon jr Steven Fahy just behind. Team title to Redondo Union with 112 pts.

D1/D2 GIRLS Indiv. Sweeps: CA D2#6 Dos Pueblos jr Addi Zerrenner pulled away late and triumphed in 17:00 (unofficial). Xavier Prep AZ won team honors with 105 pts.
